Kings played better, says Sriram

Refuses to criticise Pant for the manner of his dismissal

Delhi Daredevils acknowledged the fact that Kings XI Punjab played a more intense game. Assistant coach S. Sriram conceded, “They capitalised on the new ball. It was coming on to the bat easily. It was not an easy pitch to bat on. When we batted it was a bit slow and that’s the reason why we planned to have an Indian middle order to tackle the bowlers.”

He gave credit to his attack. “We have a very balanced bowling. We have fine seamers in Morris and Boult. Amit Mishra has tremendous experience of IPL. If not for the 24-run over (conceded by Mishra) it would have been different. Such things happen.”

Sriram also did not find fault with Rishabh Pant getting out at a critical stage.
