Allahabad University students plant sapling in research scholar's memory

ALLAHABAD: Allahabad University students paid a tribute to the research scholar who ended his life at the AN Jha Hostel by planting a sapling in his memory at the campus on Saturday. Pal had ended his life by hanging himself from the ceiling of his room on Thursday. He had suffering from depression since the last many days and was also facing financial troubles. He was a research scholar atthe J K institute of Allahabad University (AU).

As he had lost his parents at an early age, his close friends had performed his last rites at the funeral.


The plant is named after the deceased student. Garden incharge of AU, Prof N B Singh planted five saplings of 'Maulsri' plant on the campus. "We have named one of the saplings after his name so that he would be remembered by all even after his death," said Singh.
