Avengers Infinity War: Peggy Carter to make SHOCK return? Hayley Atwell SPEAKS OUT

Debuting in Captain America: The First Avenger, Agent Carter worked alongside Steve Rogers in his fight against the Red Skull.

However chances of a romance were crushed as Captain America, thought dead, was frozen for 70 years.

The pair were reunited in Captain America: The Winter Solider, with Peggy as a very elderly woman, only for her to pass away in Marvel's Captain America: Civil War.

But with rumours of time travel in Avengers 4, surely Peggy looks set for a surprise return?

The actress who plays Peggy, Atwell, spoke out on the possibility in a recent interview with Parade.

The 36-year-old said: “Because it’s a genre-specific superhero piece, I’m sure anything could happen.

“It’s such a huge world. I do think there’s something in the completion of the fact that they’re doing their back-to-back Avengers at the moment, which will complete an era, so I can’t see how that would be.”

Atwell added: “But that’s what’s remarkable about Marvel is they keep going. Each film tends to further what they’re doing, so I wouldn’t rule it out.”

Well that certainly wasn’t a no and if her Instagram from last autumn is anything to go by, it certainly seems likely.

In September she posted a selfie of herself with tracking dots on her face, which are used when CGI work is due to be done in post-production.

She captioned the pic simply: “Don't question my process. It's very serious #setlifethuglife.”

Then a month later she posted a picture of a book and coffee she was enjoying.

The caption read: “Sunny afternoon in Georgia.”

Why else would Atwell be in that US state where Avengers is being shot?

Avengers Infinity War will be released in UK cinemas on April 26, 2018, while Avengers 4 will follow on April 26, 2019.
