MONTERREY, Mexico (AP) - Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza won the Abierto GNP Seguros on Sunday for her fourth title of the year, beating Timea Babos 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
The third-ranked Muguruza, from Spain, was the top seed in the hard-court event at Club Sonoma. She improved to 5-0 against the fourth-seeded Babos, from Hungary.
In the doubles final, Britain’s Naomi Broady and Spain’s Sara Sorribes Tormo topped Desirae Krawczyk of the United States and Giuliana Olmos of Mexico 3-6, 6-4, 10-8.
