A team of experts explains nitty-gritty of launching an enterprise

From starting an enterprise to countering the challenges like approaching banks and other teething troubles, the ‘Recipe for Success’ in an entrepreneurial journey was elaborated explained by a team of experts to food entrepreneurs at a free training and marketing meet organised by women’s wing of Vizagapatam Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Friday at Dutt Island, Siripuram.

Ms. Rama Devi, founder of ALEAP (Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India), Hyderabad, spoke about basics of starting a business, teething troubles, seeking bank loans, government subsidies and business opportunities.

“The drivers of entrepreneurship are innovation, flexibility and collaboration among other things,” she said.

This was followed by a talk by the administration of Parikshan, Chennai-based food safety organisation that is also an NABL-accredited food testing laboratory. B. Sheela, administrator of Parikshan, spoke about hygiene training and certification services. During the interactive session, the participants got a chance to clear their doubts with the guest speakers. President of Women’s Wing of Vizagapatam Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sonal Sarda and secretary Sandhya Godey were present.

The event included a training session and a food court where 11 budding and established food entrepreneurs put up their stalls. From options like millet khichdi to healthy ready-to-cook wholegrain options were a part of the food exhibition. Pooja’s Kitchen had a delectable North Indian platter with mini versions of makki ki roti and sarson ka saag, pulao and lassi among other things.
