Finger at neurology staff in NIMS doc’s suicide case

Parents of Shiva Teja Reddy, the PG resident at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, levelled allegations against members of the institute’s neurological department while deposing before an inquiry committee on Saturday.

Dr. Reddy was found hanging at the institute’s hostel last month. The Resident Doctors Association demanded an inquiry alleging that he was depressed on being mistreated. His parents named at least four persons in the department, holding them responsible for the suicide.

“He was being blamed for all the things that went wrong in the department. He was ready to work through the day and never used to take leave. We have asked the police to probe the incident as we also have doubts if it was a suicide or murder,” said Guruvanth Reddy, Dr. Reddy’s father.
