Remaining Magenta Line segment likely to open soon

With the remaining segment of Magenta Line likely to be opened by the end of April, services on the remaining section of Pink Line are also not far away, officials said on Friday.

While trial runs have begun on the section of Pink Line between Shiv Vihar and I. P. Extension, a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) official said passengers should be able to avail services on this section by June. “Trial runs are being carried out on the section between Shiv Vihar and I. P. Extension of Pink Line. Once the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety inspection is done for the remaining portion of Magenta Line, we will send a request for this segment too. We hope to make this section operational by June,” the official said.

While the stretch between Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus station and Majlis Park of Pink Line was inaugurated last month, officials had said the rest of the line will be made operational in phases. A 1.5-km-stretch between Trilokpuri and Mayur Vihar Phase-1 will be left due to land acquisition issues.
