My Sweetchilliphilly changes stables to target Victoria Oaks
Owner David Harper has reluctantly decided to send smart filly My Sweetchilliphilly to Victorian trainer Andy Gath to give her an opportunity to win another group 1.
A Gold Tiara winner under the care of Shane Tritton, My Sweetchilliphilly has been racing without luck as a three-year-old and will get the chance to add a Victoria Oaks to her resume.
“Her next two big races are on in Melbourne with the Victoria Oaks coming up,” Tritton said. "We are sad to see her go. We are proud of her, she made over $100,000 in 13 starts.
“She’s been in super form but has had no luck in her races of late with draws.
“She produced a huge run at Bathurst last Saturday after doing plenty of work and finishing fourth and it was a similar scenario in the Oaks.”
Tritton has also sold Miracle Mile runner Anything For Love to US owners and My Rona Gold will join her on the plane.
“My Rona Gold will have one more start with us and then fly out to the States after that,” Tritton said.
Tritton and his wife, Lauren, lead the metropolitan trainer's premiership, while Lauren is the leading driver at Menangle as the season enters its second half.
Meanwhile, Harness Racing NSW is looking for an appropriate way to remember administrator Max Laughton, the long-serving committee member at Penrith who died last month.
Laughton was the driving force behind the Penrith club from 1964 and president of the club since 1988.
“Max was an admired administrator, a rock for the Penrith club and will be sorely missed in all harness racing circles,” HRNSW chief executive John Dumesny said.
