‘Noida roads are perfect for a marathon’

The marathon was concluded by women taking rounds in the Noida stadium park, doing some stretching exercises and surya namaskar.
Not only the women were happy with the pleasant breeze that came after the light shower, but they thanked the Noida infrastructure to make their fitness run successful. “It was actually the start of a healthy day and it was so pleasant. We had very good supply of oxygen today. It will help us to build our stamina. It took us less than an hour to finish this run. We really enjoyed it,” said Anju Kalra, another participant.
Sree Rupa Paul, who was leading the marathon, said, “Today is World Health Day and it was the best day to do a marathon. It was totally focused on health and there were a number of things we did today like stretching, jogging, breathing exercises and surya namaskar. Basically, the idea was to have a fun-filled fitness day and we made sure we don’t miss out on any of these aspects.”
While some participants shared their experience, the others praised Noida roads. “Noida roads are good. It is the best place in NCR which is fitness friendly too. Be it jogging, running or any other activity. There is less traffic here in Noida compared to any other place like Ghaziabad, Faridabad, etc. It has huge parks and wonderful greenery that makes it apt for fitness activities,” added Paul.
A women dominated run
In the run, only women from the above societies participated mentioning it was their pride that they were a woman and can actually do anything if they make up their minds for that. “Women not only have the emotional or mental support but they are also physically fit and when we determine anything strongly, we really achieve it. We planned to make ourselves fit and so we came out and did it. It is for the first time I have participated in such a marathon and I felt really good,” said Ruchi Bhardwaj, a resident of Amrapali Silicon City.
