World Health Day is being observed today. This year's theme of the Day is "Universal health coverage- everyone, everywhere". It is celebrated on 7 April every year to mark the anniversary of the founding of World Health Organization.
WHO offices worldwide are organizing events to mark the day with its Director-General, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus joining celebrations in Sri Lanka.
In his message, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said Good health is the foundation of human progress. Welcoming this year theme, Mr. Modi said, it is the quest for health for all that inspired India to create Ayushman Bharat, the largest health care programme in the world.
He prayed for wonderful health and continue to scale new heights of growth for all.
