DeKALB – A Yorkville man already charged with hitting a pregnant woman with a stolen car has been jailed on $75,000 bond stemming from a charge of armed robbery, according to a news release from the DeKalb Police Department.
Timothy T. Fulton, 18, of the 2100 block of Henning Lane, was free on bond when police say he was one of three people who participated in a gunpoint robbery inside the apartment of a DeKalb man around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
According to the release, Fulton and two 17-year-old DeKalb boys went to the victim’s home in the 800 block of Ridge Drive to smoke pot. Once inside the victim’s apartment, though, one of them pulled a gun and they stole marijuana, cash and a speaker from the victim, police said.
Police said in the news release they since had recovered the stolen items.
Police say the robbery was planned; the two boys and Fulton were arrested Wednesday, the release said.
If convicted of armed robbery, Fulton could face six to 30 years in prison. He also faces charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident in connection with a February incident, during which police say he struck a pregnant woman after crashing a stolen vehicle into a light post in the 800 block of Kimberly drive.
Fulton told Judge Philip Montgomery in February that he lived at a foster home and attended an alternative high school.
Bond is set at $25,000 for the armed robbery charge, but a bond reduction motion has been filed. A $50,000 bond is set for the possession of a stolen motor vehicle charge. If Fulton posts $7,500 bail to be released, he’ll be placed on electronic home monitoring.
He’s due back in court at 9 a.m. May 4.
