Classical dancer Shruti Gupta, with specialisation in Kathak, has got her name registered in both ‘Limca Book of Records’ and ‘Best of India Records’ for 2018 edition for performing at the highest Himalayan altitude.
Thirty year old Shruti had been passionate about music and dance ever since she was a child. She has won many accolades for her achievements and performances.
She decided to set two world records in Trans Himalaya where temperature stands in minus all the time and atmospheric pressure is inadequate to survive at such a height.
This year in the field of ‘Dance’ she is the only person whose name is listed in ‘Limca Book of Records’-2018 Edition. In pursuit to achieve her goal, she had to fight against hypothermia as she danced in minus 24 degree Celsius temperature without wearing any warm clothes and barefoot at the height of 18,380 feet in the Western Trans Himalaya in the winter season.
“This could be possible only with the grace of God, persistent dogged effort and hard work. Every time I thought of it to accomplish and finally I did it," said Shruti.
