Hyderabad: A division bench of the Hyderabad High Court on Friday directed the concerned authorities of Telangana revenue, municipal administration and irrigation departments, GHMC commissioner, Rangareddy district collector and others concerned to stop construction activity taken up in the name of ‘restoration and development’ at Malkam Cheruvu (lake) at Raidurg in Serilingampally in the district.
The bench was passing this interim order in a petition filed by IPS officer and local resident Anjana Sinha seeking directions to the respondent authorities to take steps to rejuvenate and revitalize the aforesaid lake to retain its originality. HC chides APNGOA chief for disobeying orders

Hyderabad: Displeased with the failure of APNGO Association president Ashok Babu to obey the court orders, a division bench of the High Court on Friday directed him to file an affidavit in one week on allowing members of Bhagyanagar Telangana NGO Association to utilise the facilities at APNGO Bhavan at Gunfoundry in the city. “If you (Ashok Babu) lock the rooms in APNGO building and stay in Amaravati, how will the members of Telangana NGOA use the facilities?” the bench asked him. When the matter came up for hearing on Friday, advocate Jalli Kanakaiah, appearing for TNGOA, said APNGOA had leased out some rooms and was getting `2 lakh a month in rent. Reacting to this submission, the bench asked what would if APNGOA members did not answer the phone call. The bench directed APNGOA president to file a reply affidavit, and adjourned the case to next week.
