CWG 2018 Weightlifting Men’s 85kg Final: RV Rahul lifts 338kg, wins gold medal

CWG 2018: India won their fourth gold medal when RV Rahul finished at the top position in men's 85kg Weightlifting event by lifting 338kg.

RV Rahul of India gave the country the fourth gold medal by finishing at the top position in the men’s 85kg weightlifting final. He lifted a total weight of 338kg to finish first. In his snatch, he lifted 151kg and then in the clean and jerk, he managed 187kg. The gold medal meant that India now have four gold, all of which have come in the sport of weightlifting. India have six medals in total with four gold, one silver and one bronze so far in Gold Coast. Sathish won the gold medal in the morning. Catch CWG 2018 Live Weightlifting Live here.     RV Rahul wins gold medal for India. What a thrilling final we had. He lifted 338kg in the final to win the gold. Rahul failed his final attempt of 191kg. But Samoa's Don Opeloge missed his final attempt as well. India's fourth gold at Commonwealth Games now. Brilliant, brilliant lifting now!

    That's too good from RV Rahul! He lifts 187kg in his second clean and jerk attempt and leads by 338kg. What a finish there. He is now in the gold medal position. Samoa's Don has a failed attempt and will not overtake India for now

    Easy as you like! Don Opeloge lifts 180kg in his first clean and jerk attempt. He is leading the competition now. India's RV Rahul has revised his first attempt to 182kg. He will take the lead if he manages to complete it

    Michael Anyalewechi of Nigeria is leading the competition with a total lift of 323kg. He lifted 176kg in his first clean and jerk attempt. India's RV Rahul will begin his clean and jerk with 180kg and if he complete his first lift, he will take his total to 333kg

    Venkat Ragala in gold medal position

    Venkat Rahul Ragala attempts an ambitious 151kg in his second try.  Successfully gets into the squat position but couldn't stand up to complete the lift. In his third and final attempt, however, Ragala squirms but succeeds in his try. He is now tied with Samoa's Don Opeloge at the top in the snatch event. We now move on to the clean & jerk event.
