Tito gang behind Delta colony firing: Police

CUTTACK: In a major breakthrough, the Commissionerate Police on Friday revealed involvement of notorious criminal Tito behind the firing on Tahir Ali Khan, brother of suspected Al Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent operative Abdul Rehman.Police had arrested 8 persons in the case and all of them belong to Tito gang as per preliminary investigation report, informed DCP Akhilesvar Singh. 

“Acting on tip off, Jagatpur police arrested six persons while they were hatching a plan on Birupa river bed near Nuasahi on Thursday night. During interrogation they revealed the names of two accused- Kala Babu alias Babu Khan and Alekh Routray alias Denga, who were later nabbed after an encounter on Mahanadi river bed near Bhadimula by Chauliaganj police limits hours later,” said  Singh.The accused had attacked Mohammad Tahir over a tender dispute at Delta Colony in Jagatpur on March 29, said Singh. The accused had asked him to either withdraw the paper or fix the tender, but Tahir had refused.
