Vacations are important to reinforce the bond between children and between children and parents, K. Muraleedharan, MLA, has said.

He was speaking after inaugurating summer vacation classes at Jawahar Balbhavan here on Friday.

Mr. Muraleedharan, who is also Balbhavan chairperson, said face-to-face interactions between the children and famous personalities would be held during the summer vacation classes.

Balbhavan managing committee member G.S. Pradeep said meeting new people and interacting with those of the same age helped in personality development of the children.

. It was also important to train students in healthy competition.

Balbhavan Principal S. Malini spoke at the function. The summer classes will conclude with celebrations to be held from May 26 to 31.
