1,195 cases booked for fire NoC violations, he says

The Fire Department will not be focussing on fire fighting alone, but the vision is to make it an all round disaster management force. And the work is on to train the men and procure the required equipment in that direction, said DG of Fire Department K. Satyanarayana.

Speaking to the media after reviewing and inspecting the equipment kept on display, he said 18 new fire water tenders have been procured and will be shortly added to the existing strength of 195 tenders.

“This apart, we will be adding at least one multi-purpose rescue tender in each district. We have three as of now in Vizag, Tirupati and Vijayawada,” said Mr. Satyanarayana.

The department will also be procuring two water browser of 16,000 lt capacity each and they will be kept in Vizag and Capital region in Amaravati.

Referring to fire NoC violations he said: “Till date we have booked around 1195 cases and they cover industries, high-rise buildings, hospitals, public places and institutions”.

Accepting that the men in fire department do not have any special allowance for fund in case of accidents affecting them, as there in police department, he said, “We do not have any special allowance and neither are we covered under the ‘Aarogya Bhadrata’. But we have sent a proposal to get us included.”
