Animals attacked him even after he fell on the road: cops

A 45-year-old man was killed after three to four nilgais (blue bulls) allegedly hit his motorcycle on Friday morning in Narela’s Bakhtawarpur village, the police said.

The nilgais attacked him even after he fell on the road, they added.

Ashok Kumar, a resident of Keshav Nagar, was on way to drop his 16-year-old daughter to school when the incident happened, the police said.

Crossing fields

“His daughter had an exam on Friday. He was crossing the fields via road when three to four nilgais were also crossing the road,” said an officer investigating the case.

The officer said Mr. Kumar fell on the road as the nilgais hit the bike and the animals attacked him before fleeing into the fields.

“His daughter immediately called a few villagers, who called the police,” he added.

Case registered

Mr. Kumar was taken to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

‘ “A case under Sections 279 [rash driving] and 304A [causing death by negligence] has been registered in connection with the case,” the officer said.

The deceased is said to be the sole breadwinner of the family.

He is survived by his father, wife, two sons and a daughter.
