India began their campaign in shooting at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast with 16-year-old Manu Bhaker shining at the grand scale. She had already won at the ISSF World Cups but in her first CWG outing, she was barely phased and romped home with ease. Heena Sidhu staged a superb comeback from the brink to finish with a silver medal – to give India plenty of reason to cheer and celebrate. Later, Ravi Kumar won the bronze medal in 10m Air Rifle Final as Deepak Kumar faced disappointment of being eliminated. In women’s skeet final, Saniya Sheikh qualified but finished fourth before being eliminated with a score of 32/40.
