All set for JEE Main exam today

Nearly 32,000 candidates to take the exam in three cities in State

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the JEE Main 2018 offline examination in three cities in the State on Sunday.

All preparations for the conduct of the examination had been completed, the CBSE regional office here said.

As many as 9,939 candidates will appear for the examination in 18 centres in Thiruvananthapuram city, 9,218 candidates in 17 centres in Kochi, and 12,870 candidates in 26 centres in Kozhikode city.

In an advisory to schools, the CBSE said all candidates should be frisked by metal detectors before entering the examination premises to ensure that electronic devices, mobile, or Bluetooth devices were not used.

The advisory directed centres to exercise due care while frisking female candidates by female staff so that no candidate underwent any harassment or agony and incidents such as the one ahead of a NEET examination last year in Kannur, which caused a furore, do not recur.

Security arrangements have also been made at all centres.

In a change this year, scribes for visually challenged, hearing impaired, and physically challenged students with 40% or more disability will be allotted from class 11 Mathematics students by the Principal of the school that functions as the examination centre.
