Two Goulburn men charged after armed robbery at Sutton
Two men have been charged following the armed robbery of a service station at Sutton on Thursday.
Just before midnight on Thursday, two men, allegedly armed with an iron bar and a firearm, entered a service station on the Federal Highway Service Road at Sutton and threatened the 39-year-old male attendant.
The two men allegedly demanded cash, before taking cash from the till and cigarettes and fleeing.
Officers from the Monaro Police District attended and started an investigation.
About 3am on Friday investigators attended a home on Caoura Crescent at Goulburn.
Following an operation, two men – aged 22 and 28 – were arrested and taken to Goulburn Police Station.
A search warrant was executed with police locating and seizing a firearm and clothing.
Both men were charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon.
They were refused bail and will appear at the Goulburn Local Court on Saturday.
