Amit Shah afraid of defeat: VHR

Congress alone has initiated welfare measures, says ex-MP

BJP president Amit Shah appears to be in desperation as he was sure of his party’s defeat in Karnataka elections and that is why he was abusing the Opposition parties, said Congress senior leader V. Hanumantha Rao.

Speaking to newsmen here on Saturday, he objected to the remarks made by the BJP leaders equating opposition leaders to cats and dogs. Mr. Modi should immediately remove Amit Shah from the party post for his uncharitable remarks. The BJP leaders should stop dreaming of remaining in power for eternity. Defeat and winning are common in elections and the BJP leaders should learn the reality.

A series of victories have only contributed to arrogance levels of BJP leaders but did nothing to the common people in the country, he said. The Congress party with its great history has made real contribution to the country and improved the standard of living of the people.

“You taken any irrigation project like Nagarjuna Sagar or any legislation like RTI or any welfare measure like MNREGS, they have all been initiated by the Congress party. Can you name one such initiative by the BJP during its past four years of rule?” he asked.

Referring to the state of affairs in Telangana, the Congress leader said not a single section of society is happy in newly formed state under the TRS regime. The students were deprived of fee reimbursement, the unemployed youth denied of jobs and farmers did not get minimum support price. “The farmers and SC/STs are worst affected in the TRS government. The farmers got shackled asking for reasonable price for their produce and SCs tortured questioning sand mafia,” he pointed out.
