2BHK houses unveiled at Singamcheruvu Tanda

Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K.T. Rama Rao has directed officials to bring the possible beneficiaries of the double bedroom housing project to the site of the completed project at the Singamcheruvu Tanda near Nacharam, so that they will join hands with the authorities in completion of the rest of the projects.

Speaking after inaugurating the housing colony for the poor with double bedroom houses in the city, at the Singamcheruvu Tanda near Nacharam, Mr. Rao said 95 per cent of the beneficiaries at the Singamcheruvu were tribals. Modern facilities such as CC roads, drinking water facilities, underground drainage, park and playgrounds for children, composting units, LED lighting have been provided in the colony built with a cost of ₹13.64 crore.

A total of 176 flats each with plinth area of 560 square feet were built in 11 blocks in Ground-plus-three floor pattern. Telangana is the only State in the country which is spending ₹18,000 crore for housing, Mr. Rama Rao said, and added that three lakh such houses will be built in the State, of which a lakh will be in Hyderabad.

Civic works to the tune of ₹ 234 crore are being taken up in Uppal Constituency, he said, and asked the Special Chief Secretary for Housing Chitra Ramachandran to arrange transportation for beneficiaries from other locations to come to Singamcheruvu and understand the facilities provided.

Janardhan Reddy, MLAs N.V.V.S.Prabhakar, Sudhir Reddy Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, GHMC Commissioner B.Janardhan Reddy, Medchal district Collector M.V. Reddy and various other senior officials and corporators have participated in the programme.
