Man found dead in car, police close road leading to Games venue

A man has been found dead inside a car on the side of the road leading to a Commonwealth Games venue, with police closing the road and evening spectators face delays.

Emergency services were called to Mount Gravatt-Capalaba Road at Burbank, in Brisbane's south-east, about 9am where they found the man's body in the car.

Police closed the road in both directions between Prout Road and Brightview Road, meaning spectators travelling to the Anna Meares Velodrome in Chandler on Saturday evening may have to find an alternative route.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said about 3.30pm the road was expected to be closed for several more hours.

Fire crews were testing gasses inside the car to check whether first-responders were at risk.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death.
