SYCAMORE — A Sycamore store is closed until further notice, after a man drove his car into the front of the building Friday morning.
An "older DeKalb man" told police his foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator about 10:30 a.m. Friday, causing his car to crash through Batteries Plus Bulbs', 1565 Dekalb Ave. in Sycamore, front door and windows, Sycamore Police Sgt. Steve Watry said.
“It [the car] was completely inside the building," Watry said.
The man, who is approximately 82, was not cited because the incident occurred on private property. Watry said police only cite on private property if an individual is driving under the influence.
No one was injured in the crash, and the man's airbags did not deploy.
The business will be closed until repairs can be made, Watry said.
