BENGALURU: The shifting of a reinforcement cage at a Metro work site on Bannerghatta road led to an accident in which two vehicles were damaged. The incident occurred around 11:50 pm on Thursday. No one was injured, BMRCL officials said.

The incident occurred near the station located at the Indian Institute of Management, pile number P 8/5 when a 12 m-long reinforcement cage was being lifted with the help of a rig. The cage had been secured but a welded joint failed and the cage fell on the road. “The contractor has been asked to submit a detailed investigation report and it will be examined by BMRCL safety engineer for action,” the official said.
