Ration: BJP, Cong slam AAP govt

‘CAG had exposed the bungling in public distribution system’

The BJP and the Congress on Thursday both attacked the Aam Aadmi Party government over the alleged scam in the distribution of ration, after the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) report earlier this week found irregularities in the system.

Delhi BJP workers and leaders, including MPs, protested outside the Delhi Assembly, which is in session. Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta said that the BJP had been raising the issue in the Assembly, but now the CAG had “exposed” the “bungling” in the public distribution system.

The Congress, too, slammed the government over the findings of the CAG. Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken said CM Arvind Kejriwal should resign and that the CBI should probe the irregularities in the ration distribution system. The CAG report, which was tabled in the Delhi Assembly earlier this week, found buses and two-wheelers were among vehicles registered to transport food articles from godowns to fair price shops, among other irregularities.
