San Francisco Police Arrests Man Who Threatened to Kill Police in Manifesto

San Francisco police arrested a 44-year-old man who threatened to kill Bay Area police officers and people in a 20-page manifesto. 

On Friday morning, the San Francisco police thanked the public's help in providing tips that led to Dustin Hamilton's capture "without incident." Two firearms were also found at the scene, according to authorities.

Hamilton was taken into custody after burglarizing his parents' home on Tuesday in San Jose and stole several guns. Hamilton left behind the manifesto and said he hated the San Francisco police, KGO-TV reported. The outlet said Hamilton had two outstanding warrants for assault and vandalism, in addition to three additional warrants related to Tuesday's crime.

On Wednesday, police issued a warning to local Bay Area residents after the note was found and asked the public's help in finding Hamilton. At the time, authorities said he was considered to be armed and dangerous.

                       

According to The Fresno Bee, Hamilton has been diagnosed as a schizophrenic and is currently off his medicine. The outlet said he was transient.

Sources told KGO-TV that Hamilton had been homeless for almost 10 years even though friends and family tried to help him.
