Royal wedding EXCLUSIVE: Will Meghan Markle and Prince Harry invite Justin Trudeau?
THE royal wedding is creeping closer with each passing day and speculation is rife over who Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will invite. A royal family expert has shed some light on the possibility of Canadian Prime Minster Justin Trudeau attending.
The wedding bells at Windsor will ring on Saturday May 19 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Harry and Meghan Markle have so far invited 2,640 members of the public to watch them arrive at the royal nuptials, including 1,200 commoners, but it remains to be seen which world dignitaries will appear.
600 invites have been sent out to guests inviting them to the ceremony and afternoon reception with 200 of the couple's closest family and friends to attend the evening celebration at Frogmore House.
Among the chief names touted to attend next month, are former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, as well as current President Donald Trump and his wife Melania.
Some punters have also suggested Canada’s dashing Prime Minister could soon dust off his best suit, citing the warm relationship he shares with Harry and his soon-to-be wife.
Odds are now high the good friend of both Meghan and Prince Harry will show up for the wedding.
A Canadian royal expert has now told Express.co.uk why there is a very good chance Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau will likely feature on the guest list.
According to royal historian and author Carolyn Harris, Canadian Prime Minister have a good track record of cosy relations with the Royal Family.

The royal commentator told Express.co.uk: “Royal weddings include both official guests and friends of the couple. Canadians have attended royal weddings in both capacities.

“At Princess Margaret's wedding in 1960, future Prime Minister John Turner, a friend of the Princess, was the only Canadian invited in an unofficial role.
“The wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer was attended by Canada's Governor General Edward Schreyer and wife Mrs Lily Schreyer. Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, father of Justin Trudeau, also attended.”
Thereafter when Prince William and Kate Middleton tied the knot in 2011, both then Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Governor General David Johnston were invited to attend.
However only the Governor General and his wife, Sharon Johnston, made it due to an ongoing election campaign in Canada.
And in a very charming and little know detail about Mr Trudeau, Ms Harris revealed the two families go way back together.
Ms Harris said: “As a child, Justin Trudeau watched Charles and Diana's wedding from Canada House in London with his mother and brothers. His impressions were filmed for CBC TV.”
Archival CBC footage shows the Prime Minister as a young boy, gushing over the wedding with his two brothers.

In fact at the tender age of 11, Mr Trudeau met Harry’s mother in person, as recalled in his memoir titled ‘Common Ground’.
He wrote: “I was eleven years old and playing on the driveway of 24 Sussex with my friend Jeff Gillin.
“A car pulled up, the door opened, and an elegant young woman stepped out carrying a gym bag: it was Diana, Princess of Wales.
“She and Prince Charles were touring Canada at the time and I had been told she was discreetly coming over to swim some laps in the pool … Jeff, his eyes as large as saucers exclaimed, 'Oh my God! That was incredible!”
Meghan herself appears to be very friendly with the Canadian Prime Minister, after she shared Instagram photos of the two in Ottawa for the One Young World summit in 2016.
At the same time Harry’s actress fiancé also shared pictures of herself with Mrs Trudeau, hinting that the two are definite candidate for a wedding invite.
