Education, health & jobs top priorities of State Govt: CM

The Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that the state government would open two modern residential schools, one each in Garhwal and Kumaon divisions. These schools will provide education in sync with international standards. He made this declaration while addressing a public meeting at Didihat in Pithoragarh district on Thursday. In the programme organised at the local Government Model School, the CM said that the meritorious students would be admitted in these two schools and children of poor would also get admissions in them.

Addressing the public meeting, the CM said that the state government in last one year has worked on priority in three areas of education, health and employment as per its commitment to the people of the state. He said that the government had taken a target to appoint 1000 doctors in one year and against it a total of 1141 doctors were appointed. The CM said that to strengthen health services ICU in every district would be opened soon and in this context he announced that on April 14 ICU in Pithoragarh district would start. He further added that 22 hospitals of the state have been linked with Tele radiology while Tele Medicine service would start in 36 hospitals. Rawat said that the government is setting up priorities as per the needs of the state. He said that the state government has appointed Principals in all the government colleges and the Principals of all Polytechnic colleges have been authority to appoint local teachers based on experience and merit. Rawat claimed that the Uttarakhand is the first state in the country which has compulsorily implemented the books of NCERT in all the schools and the government is moving forward in the direction of implementing uniform education system. He said that the year 2018 is being celebrated as employment year. To increase employment opportunities the state government is developing every Nyaya Panchayat as growth centre.
