What we proud Democrats believe
Thank the Lord we Democrats have lost our way. Otherwise we might believe that immigrants, legal, illegal and DACA kids should be rounded up and sent to holding camps not unlike the Jewish roundups of the 1940s; that women having the right to choose and funding an organization that provides needed health care to millions of women is comparable to having children one can’t care for and letting the child go without the basic needs of humanity; we don’t hold any president in high esteem who has extra marital affairs, we just try to adhere to those good old Biblical teachings like “but for the grace of God ...” or “do unto others ...” or “seeing the splinter in someone else’s eye while overlooking the tree in your own.”
Of course, we don’t support including in the Census whether or not one is a citizen because that sounds a lot like McCarthyism; and just for the record, no one votes against individual tax breaks, just the mega tax breaks that go to the richest 1 percent of the country. As for banning people from certain “terrorist” countries, the conservative Supreme Court agreed that was discriminatory and, of course, we agree.
No, we don’t support a “lovefest” with the Russians because we’re far too intelligent to trust Mr. Putin. As for the FBI, CIA and Hillary Clinton breaking the law, all we’ve heard are right-wing rantings and opinions with no proof whatsoever. We believe the gazillion dollars spent on investigations by Congress would have produced something other than the usual innuendo and a severe case of “Right Wing Nut Vapors” if there had been any truth to any of it.
We never call anyone a racist, bigot, or hypocrite unless, of course, they are one. As for false and unsubstantiated information, no, we don’t listen to Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh or other narrow-minded kooks. We prefer intelligent, informed discussions with intelligent, informed people.
No, we don’t understand the right-wing obsession with Hillary Clinton unless it’s because they simply feel threatened by a successful, intelligent woman. Oh, and here’s another news flash, the Democrats weren’t the people who gerrymandered the districts that put our current right-wing nuts in office. I’ll leave it to you to guess who that was. And, one other tidbit, the most recent budget passed by Congress was supported by both parties.
Yes, I’m one proud Democrat.
