Inderpreet Chadha suicide case: HC stays police probe against DGP Chattopadhyaya

Arguing in the court on behalf of the IPS officer, Gupta said, "Chattopadhyaya is being hounded by DGP and DGP (Intelligence) The entire investigation in suicide case was being directed and monitored on hourly basis by these DGPs."

Claiming that neither his name was mentioned in suicide note nor in the FIR, Chattopadhyaya in his application submitted before the high court stated that he was being "constantly harassed" in the name of investigation.

He also claimed that investigation was "just a ruse to pressure him to change the course of his investigation" in the drug case.

Chattopadhyaya further claimed that during the course of his investigation, the role of DGP Arora and DGP (Intelligence) Gupta had "come to light and several significant facts and pointers, including reportedly the benami house of a DGP were being investigated to confirm their involvement in the case with the dismissed and the SSP in the drug trafficking case.

Gupta also argued before the division bench that committed suicide as he felt humiliated when his father's alleged objectionable video with the woman went viral.
