Under-14 girls’ tennis: India loses to Hong Kong

Renne Singla and Sanjana Sirimalla went down fighting in the doubles as Hong Kong scored a 2-1 victory over India in the 9-12th playoff in the Asia Oceania world junior under-14 girls’ tennis tournament on Friday.

India will play Indonesia for the 11th spot.

Man Wai Chloris Li played a key role for Hong Kong by winning the first singles and the doubles along with Yee Ching Wai who was tamed in the singles by Sanjana.

Japan and China set up a title clash.

The results (9-12 playoff): Hong Kong bt India 2-1 (Man Wai Chloris Li bt Naisha Srivastav 6-4, 6-0; Yee Ching Wai lost to Sanjana Sirimalla 5-7, 4-6; Man Wai Chloris Li & Yee Ching Wai bt Renne Singla & Sanjana Sirimalla 7-5, 7-5).
