Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu flags off APTDC’s  four new Volvo buses

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya flagged off four Volvo buses of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC)  in Vijayawada on Thursday. The APTDC purchased the four new multi-axle Volvo buses with advanced facilities at a cost of Rs 1,150 crore to provide hassle-free experience to tourists. Earlier, the APTD had decided to add new Volvo buses to its existing fleet of 32  buses in order to promote AP as a major tourism destination. The APTDC wants to use the latest buses for package tours at various destinations.

Speaking on the occasion, Akhila Priya said, “With the cooperation and support of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, we are coming up with new initiatives in tourism sector. Soon, we will introduce special tourism packages.”

The APTDC wants to use the new buses in Visakhapatnam, a major tourist destination in the State. The buses will be used for daily package tours to Araku, Borra Caves, Arasavalli, Srikurmam, Kalingapatnam and Pattiseema.APTDC chairman V Jayaram Reddy said that the APTDC was planning to operate package tours from Visakhapatnam to Tirupati.
