Isolated rain likely to continue in Andhra Pradesh

VIJAYAWADA: Isolated rain and gusty storms occurred at isolated places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts of north coastal AP on Thursday.The Indian Meteorological Department said that the trough was active in the Arabian Sea and similar weather conditions will last for a day or two.

The highest 3 cm rainfall was recorded at Kunavaram in East Godavari district, 3 cm at Chintapalle in Visakhapatnam district, 2 cm at Anakapalle in Visakhapatnam district, Paderu in  Visakhapatnam district and Vepada in Vizianagaram district.Many places in the districts of West Godavari, Vizianagaram, Krishna and  Anantapur received 1-2 cm rainfall on Monday.

According to officials of the Indian Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation is extending up to 1.5 km above the mean sea level over north Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood.A trough from cyclonic circulation to south interior Karnataka across Vidarbha, Marathwada and north interior Karnataka is extending up to 1.5 km above the mean sea level. Though the north coastal districts are experiencing cool winds and light showers resulting in the fall of day temperatures to 36-38 degree Celsius, Rayalaseema and south coastal districts like Krishna-Guntur regions are experiencing dry weather and hot climatic conditions. The day temperatures in Rayalaseema recorded a maximum of 40 degree Celsius.
