DeKALB – Three paid internships at the Ellwood House Museum, 509 N. First St., are available this summer in the areas of education, museum operations and gardening.
College undergraduate or graduate students with an interest in museums, preservation and historical research are encouraged to apply for the Selenia Rolfe Towle Teague Education Internship. The intern will be responsible for creating and executing the museum’s education programming, including guided tours of the museum, youth programs and the Local Lore adult lecture series.
High school or college students are welcome to apply for the Tour Guide/Museum Operations internship.
Both internships will be about 10 hours a week from May through August and will include a $500 stipend. The application deadline is April 15.
Applications also are being accepted for the William C. Lundberg Berg Garden Internship. College students in horticulture or a related program are encouraged to apply and have the opportunity to care for the Berg Garden, originally planted in 1903. This internship will run from May through August and carry a $500 stipend. The deadline to apply is April 30.
