APTDC luxury buses flagged off

The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) has added four luxury buses to its fleet for long distance tours. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Tourism Minister B. Akhila Priya flagged off the new buses here on Thursday.

The multi-axle Volvo buses have been purchased at ₹1.30 crore each and have all the modern facilities.

The buses will ply in the long-distance inter-state routes as they can run for 10 to 12 hours at one go, said APTDC Chairman V. Jayaram Reddy.

“The new services will be plied between Tirupati and other cities including Bengaluru, Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Kumbakonam, Mangalore and others for special tours,” he said.

City tour services

APTDC MD Himanshu Shukla said that the department was planning to introduce city tour buses in Visakhapatnam. “The corporation already has 32 buses for special tours. Following the instructions of Chief Minister, the city tour services for Amaravati is also being planned,” he said.
