The Delhi Police Crime Branch questioned three more teachers of the school, where two arrested teachers work, in connection with alleged leak of the CBSE economics question papers. Police said that these three teachers were present when the question papers were opened.
Confirming the hour-long grilling of the trio, Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime, Alok Kumar said the three are from the same school and in their presence the bundle of Economics question paper was opened. “Their questioning has revealed significant information which will take the case forward. These details cannot be revealed as they may hinder the ongoing investigation,” Kumar said.
The crime branch has so far questioned over 150 school teachers, various coaching centre tutors and students who are under the scanner. Over 50 phones have been seized and at least a dozen WhatsApp groups have been identified for suspicious involvements in the leak. The Delhi Police's elite investigation unit has also taken a mammoth task to scan around 1000 centres of CBSE in Delhi in order to bust the question paper leakage cartel. Banks, in which the board keeps its question papers safe will also be under the radar, officer earlier said.
At present two teams of Crime Branch are working on the entire question paper leakage scandal. The cases of Maths and Economics paper leaks are being probed separately by the unit. Meanwhile, the principal of the school of which two teachers were earlier arrested by the crime branch was on Wednesday questioned again following at least six hours grilling on Monday.
