KOCHI: The Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) has decided to waive parking fee for Metro passengers, except at Aluva and Edappally stations, for two months from Friday.
The decision has been taken in view of the heavy traffic in the upcoming festival season and also the passenger movement expected from distant places during the vacation time. The offer is only for Metro passengers. Other vehicles can be parked at these spaces paying `20 per hour for cars and `10 per hour for bikes.
This offer will be effective from Friday, the authorities said. “We hope the parking fee waiver will attract more Metro riders during this holiday season and will help control illegal parking across the Metro corridor,” Mohammed Hanish, Managing Director, KMRL.
