Unaccounted cash to the tune of Rs 1.5 crore was seized from a car of contractor during checks being held in view of coming assembly elections in Karnataka and two persons detained today, police said.
The cash was found in the car when the city police searched it at a check-post, Deputy Commissioner of Police Chandragupta said.
The car's owner, a contractor,and the driver were detained in this connection, he said.
"The cash seized is election related," he said without divulging further details.
Karnataka will go to polls on May 12.
