Belagavi: Ahead of assembly elections,
Congress leaders of the district tried to show unity between them on Friday by holding a joint press conference at a private hotel under the leadership of district minister
Ramesh Jarkiholi.
AICC secretary and Yamakanamaradi MLA Satish Jarkiholi, who has openly given statements about differences within the party recently and Chikkodi MP Prakash Hukkeri were on the dais.
Ramesh said the party high command has appointed the committee comprising him, Satish Jarkiholi, Prakash Hukkeri and ex MLC Veerkumar Patil for finalizing tickets to the candidates.
Cooperative minister Ramesh Jarkiholi said preference will be given to winnable candidates while distributing tickets in all 18 constituencies in the district. “We have a target of winning 14 seats,” he said. He said that all differences between party leaders have come to an end and that they will work for the party as a single force.
MLAs Feroz Sait, Ganesh Hukkeri, D B Inamdar, district president Vinay Navalagatti and the party’s city unit president Raju Sait were present.
