Saudi Arabia last week announced plans to build the world’s largest solar power project, which dwarfs anything that exists today and the next biggest plant in the pipeline by a factor of hundreds. A part of crown prince Mohd bin Salman’s Vision 2030 for the desert kingdom, the project promises to earn serious green cred for the world’s largest exporter of oil at a time when the focus is shifting to renewables.
