Andhra Pradesh signs business pact with Dubai group

VIJAYAWADA: Aimed at attracting investors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Andhra Pradesh, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged between the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) and Dubai-based Business Leaders Forum (BLF) in the presence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

At a meeting with a team of BLF, a platform to facilitate investment between India and UAE, at his residence in Undavalli, near here, on Thursday, the Chief Minister said that Andhra Pradesh can provide the best facilities and the ecosystem for investments in every sector.Naidu asserted that AP is better than UAE in providing more opportunities for investments due to the availability infrastructure, human resources, water and several other factors.

Reiterating his commitment to turn AP into a hub of agriculture, horticulture aquaculture and livestock development, he said the State government has adopted innovative education models.He wanted the delegates to proceed to create an action plan in coordination with APEDB, and follow up with possible investments. Speaking on the occasion, the delegates said that the forum is keen to facilitate investments in IT infrastructure, education, health, mining and other sectors. They proposed investments in the PPP mode in various sectors.

An MoU was signed between Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department with Interups Inc for construction of a luxury resort in Tirupati at an estimated cost of Rs 1,000 crore.
