Would You Buy a new Honda S2000 if it Looked Like This?

Honda has already come out to say it won’t be building a next-generation S2000 and that a so-called ‘baby NSX’ performance car isn’t on the table either.

That doesn’t mean Honda doesn’t want such a product to happen, though. The automaker recently showed its vision for a tiny sports car when it debuted the Honda Sports Vision Gran Turismo – a small, mid-engine sports car with a 400hp version of its 2.0-liter turbocharged VTEC four-cylinder engine.

If a Sports Vision Gran Turismo inspired Honda were to ever reach production, it might look like the rendering above. The illustration stays true to the Sports Vision Gran Turismo, but features headlights and indicators that would actually be street legal. The rendering artists also removed the roof from the Gran Turismo concept, making it a roadster, and painted it a nice shade of Type R yellow. The red background Honda badge that denotes Type R models is also present.
