Registering strong protest against release of the questionable outcome report on by the Government in the House and subsequent unsavory discussion on Wednesday and Thursday, Bharatiya Janta Party MLAs have written to Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, condemning the ruling Aam Aadmi Party MLAs for making adverse comment against Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal.

In a letter written on Thursday, Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta and BJP MLAs OP Sharma, MS Sirsa and Jagdish Pradhan criticised Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other MLAs for questioning the office of Lieutenant Governor.

Gupta said the outcome report and comments thereon are against the rules of the 'Delhi Legislative Assembly' and the spirit of Constitution. “These are against the dignity of the office of LG. They drew attention of the Speaker to the rule 93(6) and 264(2)(f), which lays down that the House cannot make adverse comments on the working or conduct of the LG,” he said.

In order that a resolution may be admissible, it shall satisfy the certain condition as per the rules. He also pointed out that Rule 264 (2) (f) stipulates that a member while speaking shall not reflect upon the conduct of the President or any Governor or any Court of Justice.

The BJP MLAs urged the Speaker that he should issue instructions to the Chief Minister and MLAs to adhere to the rules of Delhi Vidhan Sabha and the spirit of the Constitution.

Meanwhile, the Opposition also walked out on Thursday for making Ram Navami a political issue for gaining political mileage. Gupta said that the AAP was involved in cheap politics. Ram Navami festival is being celebrated for years in Delhi but no one has objected yet but the party is trying to divide people in the name of religion.
