Railway projects to gather momentum

SCR assures to expedite the ambitious Manoharabad to Kothapalli railway line

Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar said that the South Central Railway authorities have assured to expedite the ambitious Manoharabad (Hyderabad) to Kothapalli (Karimnagar) railway line via Gajwel, Siddipet, Sircilla and Vemulawada at the earliest.

The Karimnagar MP met the SCR general V.K. Yadav in Hyderabad on Friday and discussed about the progress of railway projects in the integrated Karimnagar district. He said that the Railways had assured him of completing the Manoharabad to Gajwel railway line works by December-end, this year. The railway line works from Gajwel to Siddipet would be completed within a year of the completion of tenders process and the Kothapalli to Boinpalli railway works would begin soon after calling tenders during this month.

He also said that they would be realigning the Manoharabad to Kothapalli railway line between Sircilla and Vemulawada following the coming up of the R&R colonies. He said that they would soon lay foundation stone for the construction of railway bridge across the river Manair in Sircilla town very soon.

The SCR had also assured to take up railway overbridge at Bijigiri Sherief railway station and at Karimnagar on cost-sharing basis. The MP also requested the railway authorities to halt Patna-Secunderabad Dhanapur express and Intercity express trains at Jammikunta railway stations, Khagaznagar express train at Uppal railway station, for the benefit of locals. The SCR general manager assured to write a letter to the Railway Ministry and take action accordingly.
