Driver nabs Brisbane kebab bandit

A Brisbane man has chased down a thief who smashed in his car window and stole his kebab dinner.

Police say the bandit approached the man's vehicle in a car park in South Brisbane on Thursday night and asked for a lift.

But when his request was refused, he allegedly punched and kicked in the driver's side window, assaulted the man then made off with his dinner.

The 34-year-old driver chased the kebab thief and managed to detain him with the help of bystanders until police arrived.

The 36-year-old assailant has been charged over the attack and will face Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday.
