
Additional coach for two trains

BHUBANESWAR: In order to meet the growing public demand, East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to augment two important trains - Rajdhani Express and Bhubaneswar-Balangir Inter City Express with an extra coach each on permanent basis.One additional AC-3 Tier coach each will be attached to Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, permanently from August 1, Rajdhani Express via Tata from August 2, Rajdhani Express via Sambalpur City-Jharsuguda-Rourkela from August 4 and Rajdhani Express via Adra from August 1. Similarly, Bhubaneswar-Balangir-Bhubaneswar Intercity Express has also been augmented with one additional second class chair car coach, permanently from April 1.
Based on an analysis of the passenger traffic profile on various routes, temporary augmentation of coaches in several Express trains is also being done by attaching additional coaches. “The officials are keeping a close watch on flow of railway traffic and gauging the passenger profile. Besides, the wait list position in trains is also being closely monitored,” stated a release.
