Chief Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat today informed media persons in Bengaluru that concerns of political parties on misuse of office machinery and officials will be dealt seriously.
The full Commission was on tour to Bengaluru for three-days and reviewed poll preparedness by interacting with political parties, electoral officers and enforcement agencies.
He informed that political parties expressed concern about transfer and posting of officers, undue publicity to one particular party by television channels, utilisation of public resources like office, vehicle and staff by Boards and Corporation Chairmen and Presidents.
Mr.Rawat also said that a few political parties have asked the Commission to open polling booths in apartments with over 400 houses and to shut down entertainment centres on the voting day. He said Chief Electoral Office in the state will look into these requests.
