Congress protest for SCS continues

It deplores vindictive attitude of Centre

The protest of the Congress demanding Special Category Status (SCS) for the State continued for the third day on Thursday at the Gandhi statue near GVMC.

Former Government Whip and AP Congress Committee general secretary Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao said adjourning the Lok Sabha without taking up the ‘no confidence’ motion was undemocratic.

He asserted that the movement for SCS and other promises made during bifurcation would continue till the demands were fulfilled, He deplored the vindictive action against the State instead of lending it a helping hand.

City Congress president Behera Bhaskara Rao alleged BJP and TDP meted a raw deal to the new State.

Former Chairman of VUDA P.S.N. Raju and City Mahila Congress president Pedada Ramana Kumari participated.
